The Helderberg Wine route is on Blaauwheim's doorstep. To name but a few, Vergelegen, Lourensford and Morgenster are part of Somerset West's history. Follow the R44 to Avontuur, Eikendal, Somerbosch and Blaauwklippen. Annandale Road will take you to Ernie Els, Alto, Rust en Vrede and many more.

There are several excellent golf courses in and around Somerset West. Erinvale, De Zalze, Somerset West, Stellenbosch, Strand and Helderberg Village are very near to Blaauwheim. Courses such as Pearl Valley, Arabella, Atlantic Beach and Rondebosch  - to name but a few - can also be easily reached.

Somerset West's restaurants cater for every taste. For fine dining try Camphor's, Rust en Vrede, Cavalli or Idiom. Family restaurants include Steffanie's Place, Henri's, Giovanni's, 96 Winery Road and Hussar Grill.
