Guestbook

This is the only five star accommodation in the Somerset West area and definitely deserves its grading. Johan and Jo-Anne are wonderful hosts, so warm and welcoming and their attention to detail is remarkable. We lacked for nothing and Johan made special journeys to a nearby bakery when he discovered we liked croissants and certain crispy rolls for breakfast. The individual fruit platters were a work of art. We stayed in the Pinotage Suite on the ground floor. It was beautifully appointed and had everything we could possibly need.

Owners are 100% involved with the business and one can tell that from hospitality, and overall look an feel of the establishment. Breakfast was awesome and the general knowledge of the owners about the area helped me make great choises of where to go and what route to take. Overall awesome experience.

Blaauwheim Guesthouse was our last stop on our 2 week holiday in SA and we loved it very much. Our room was spotlessly clean and the breakfasts were to die for. Johan and Joanne , the owners, are very friendly, helpful and interesting people. Being teachers ourselves we loved talking with them about South Africa and life/jobs in general. They treat you not as guests but as friends and that is something special! Thank you for a wonderful stay!!!

We stayed at the Blaauwheim guest house twice during our recent holiday in South Africa, a total of 7 nights. It is so comfortable, quiet and luxurious it was the best place we stayed at. It's probably one of the best places we've stayed in the world. Jo-Anne and Johan, make you so welcome and look after you very well, they helped us by booking the best local restaurants in the busiest of seasons over Christmas and New Year, using their local knowledge to find the best options for us.

The Chardonnay suite we had was absolutely spotless, pure white soft fluffy towels, and crisp white high quality bed linen. Gorgeous views of the mountains from your private balcony. A kitchen to die for fully equipped for every eventuality even and Nespresso machine! It's really hard to beat it.

We slept in a huge comfy bed like logs, just so relaxing knowing you are safe and so well looked after.

Breakfast is a sight to behold, a huge platter of fresh fruit designed individually each day by Johan (surely a closet artist) followed by a choice of deliciously cooked breakfast any way and combination you like or cold meat/cheeses/yoghurt/muesli etc etc.

I would highly recommend this guest house to anyone who likes a luxurious place to say at a reasonable cost.

After some 3 weeks on a Garden Route programme we spent our last 3 days at Blaauwheim's, which had been recommended by experienced Dutch South Africa-goers. When booking, we found that we could only stay 3 nights due to the Xmas and New Year period. We had some marvelous days, in a luxurious, well equipped suite, with the excellent personal service and touches of Johan and Jo-anne. They quietly assist you in planning trips, outings, restaurants, but you hardly notice that they're there.

From the Blaauwheim its easy to visit Stellenbosch and the vineyards, but also Cape Town is easily reached. The breakfasts were true feast of fruits, and Johan kindly made us a fantastic 'braai', which we ate with our hosts. we had a most enjoyable, comfortable stay at this excellent 5 Star Guesthouse. An experience we will want to repeat. And meantime we suggest others to stay there and enjoy it.
